This past November, my little sister Alexa got engaged! Ryan had us help him set it all up and we were so excited! It's amazing what can happen in a year, right?
As soon as she had that ring on her finger, I called dibs on her wedding shower. Our good friend Kellie helped me and it went amazing! I have to show you what I made for her shower gift...
If you know Alexa, you know that she loves "Friends". Like, seriously she's obsessed with it! I went to Walmart and bought the plain white mugs. It's so easy... All you need are the mugs, a Sharpie, and an oven. Steven and I picked out our 6 favorite Friends quotes. Can I tell you how hard that was?! I could have easily doubled that number. I wrote the quotes straight on the mug with the Sharpie. Put the mugs in the oven, then turn the oven on to 350 degrees. It's very important that you put the mugs in the oven before you turn the oven on. You want the ceramic to slowly heat up with the oven so it doesn't crack or break completely. Once the oven heats to 350 degrees, set a timer for 30 minutes. Then turn the oven off and leave the mugs in the oven until they are completely cooled. They will be so so hot so please be very careful! They turned out so great! I want to make myself a set! :)
How gorgeous are they?
I have been working hard to get her wedding quilt done! Between Christmas, knee surgery and more than 30 doctor's appointments between the four of us... It's been tricky! Somehow a miracle happened and it was done in time for their wedding.
I wish I could take all the creativity points from this, but I have to give the props to my cute husband. He's a genius quilter even though he doesn't quilt. :) I used Lori Holt's Farm Girl Vintage book for the bee, sunflower, and house. I made the beehive just by winging it and then Lori Holt just released a pattern! I'm always a day late ha ha. I love all things Lori Holt! The pictures were colored by our family using the quilt color method. It was so much fun to work on!
The wedding was amazing and we are so excited to have a new uncle for our boys!
