Nursery Decorations

My little baby cousin is 5 1/2 months old now and I can't believe it! She is the sweetest little thing anyone has ever seen. My aunt decorated her room in a forrest theme. So when I saw a wooden owl at Wood Connection I knew it would go with her room perfectly! The owl was decorated differently, so I made some changes so that it would match the nursery.

I modge-podged the stomach with this cute pink baby paper.

I also made a mobile with some owls on it. There was a post on the blog Homemade By Jill (which is one of my all-time favorite blogs) about making a mobile. In hers, she used felt. I have gotten really good at stitching felt, but there aren't a lot of baby colors in felt. So I thought I would just try a different type of fabric. I thought that the flannel would be cute. All of you expert sewers out there are probably laughing that I decieded to stitch flannel. Oh man it was a lot harder than expected.  But they turned out really cute, so I can't complain too much. :)

I had found a really cheap mobile online. I just took off the little toys they had on it, and put mine on.

Isn't this the most adorable nursery ever! Those owls on the wall are just big wall stickers that my aunt found. I love this cute theme!

One Last Summertime Post

What is it about watermelons that are so cute? I saw this at the Wood Connection and I had to make it. It's just layered wooden blocks. I modge podged the first one with the green paper then glued down the pink piece. I thought the bow was a cute touch.

This one is also at the Wood Connection, but I put my own twist on it. They have one of these frames to make for each month, but all three items are the same thing. For example, the August one just has three watermelons. I thought it would be cute to do different ones and just hang it up all summer. I think the flower is for May, the sun is for June, and the watermelon is for August.

I added the letters at the bottom of the frame using my wonderful Cricut.

I did the same thing with this watermelon that I did with the one above. I modge podged the first layer with green paper and then put the pink painted piece on top. I just jewels for seeds instead of the wooden seeds.

I can't believe that summer is coming to an end! There are too many cute summer crafts that I will miss making!

August Decorations

Here are the cute decorations I put up for August. I love these cute little crows!
I saw these wooden dangles at the Wood Connection and it made me think of this idea. I put a wire on the back of the wood so that i could wrap the wire around the wreath. The wood was too heavy to just glue.

Here are the dangles from the Wood Connection.
Aren't those so cute!

I did these sunflowers a little differently than the wreath ones. I put the glitter in the center while the yellow paint was still drying. That way the glitter would fade out from the center.

I love these watermelons. I used nails as the seeds and just painted the tops. I took a side picture so you could see it better.

Hope everyone is having fun in the final days of summer!
