Two years ago today, it was the coldest day of the year (the high was 7 degrees) and my groom and I were out with no coat taking pictures in the snow. What a perfect day! Honestly it has been the best two years and I'm not just saying that because he is going to read this post. :) He is the best husband that anyone could ever ask for!
Saturday night we celebrated. We went to dinner in Park City at Baja Cantina. That was where we celebrated our two year anniversay when we were dating, and it's also where he gave me my promise ring. So we thought it was very fitting to go there! We traded presents too. If you know me, you know that I'm a sucker for tradition. We had decided last year that since our anniversary is so close to Christmas and both our birthdays, we are going to make our anniversary presents or at least a part of them. The rules are you can't spend too much money, you have to make part of the gift, and it has to go along with this year's theme. The theme for year #2 is either china or cotton. I had consulted with some of my friends to get some ideas. Here is what I came up with!
I got us a duvet cover for our bed from IKEA. In the corner, I embroidered this big heart. The first date is the day that we started dating, and the second is when we got married. I didn't have a stencil or anything, I just winged it. I also made a tiny heart to go on our pillow cases. (Steven + Cortney) :)
And you will NEVER guess what he made....

Needless to say, I got shown up! Look how cool these are! He knows my love of glitter and what is better than glitter shoes?? He bought some tennis shoes that were $7. Then he stole my modge-podge and covered them with the glue then lots of glitter! He didn't put any on the tongue because he knew that it would just rub off anyway. And honestly I like the contrast in the tongue and the rest of the shoe! He let the glue dry with the glitter, then he went back and sprayed it with a high gloss so that the glitter would stay put. The shoes were a bit stiff at first, but after less than 30 minutes they were super comfy! How creative is he?
I told you, he is the BEST husband!!
I love your glitter shoes! Thank you for joining my party and my site!
